Hope

I've often thought that a person can endure almost anything, as long as they know there is hope -- hope for a different tomorrow, to be healed, for a loved one to return, whatever circumstances apply.  Without hope, it can be hard to find the strength to carry one's burdens.  Martin Luther (1483 - 1546) said, "Everything that is done in the world is done by hope."  I quote Martin Luther with reticence due to his reputation of anti-Judaism and antisemitism -- but I do so because I believe the message of hope is strong and transcends these beliefs, and indeed transcends all beliefs -- it is a universal message.  So on our journey, we learn to hope, and to provide hope to others, as it is a critical component in our survival.  As always, I invite your comments on this.
